Meet Dr. Sally Claassen

Dr. Sally Claassen

Dr. Sally Claassen is originally from Minnesota but has called many places home since she served in the US Navy as a general dentist before becoming an orthodontist. While treating active-duty patients and their families, she discovered her true calling and passion for orthodontics. When she was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan she treated mostly pediatric and adolescent patients and learned firsthand how impactful orthodontic treatment can be for someone.

Dr. Sally started her academic journey at Miami University in Oxford, OH where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology and Spanish. Dr. Sally continued her education at Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she was a recipient of the US Navy’s Health Professional Scholarship Program. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 2016, Dr. Sally completed a 1-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. This training offered in-depth practice in all areas of dentistry, including orthodontics. After Dr. Sally’s time in the US Navy, she started orthodontic residency at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she was chief resident and received her master’s degree.

When Dr. Sally isn’t practicing orthodontics, she loves to be outside, exploring new places with her husband, 2-year-old son, and 2 dogs. After many years of moving around, Dr. Sally and her family are excited to get involved in the community and feel lucky to call Colorado Springs home.
