What is Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment uses a series of virtually invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that allow you to smile more during treatment as well as after. More than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to administer Invisalign treatment.
When worn according to the recommendations of our Invisalign-trained Colorado Springs, Monument, and Castle Rock orthodontists, Invisalign and Invisalign Teen can be as effective as traditional braces for the most common teeth-straightening issues. Invisalign can treat mild to moderate crowded cases, including underbite, overbite, overcrowding, and gaps between teeth.
Invisalign clear aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology. In fact, Drs. Watts and Kaplan are one of only a few Preferred Providers in Colorado who have the newest iTero® Element 3D digital scanner. iTero Element uses the latest in imaging technology for a more accurate digital impression, which translates to more precise Invisalign treatment.
Why would I want Invisalign?
With traditional braces, there is a long list of foods you shouldn’t eat, from healthy snacks such as apples and raw carrots to things we all enjoy such as popcorn at the movies. With Invisalign, there are no such restrictions. The removable aligners also make it easy to brush and floss normally to maintain proper oral hygiene.
Invisalign aligners are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires, which usually means you spend less time in our Colorado Springs, Monument, Castle Rock, and Woodland Park offices getting adjustments. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does Invisalign work?
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit Rangewood Orthodontics about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages nine to 15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
